What We Need
Are you an eagle-eyed proofreader who is up for a challenge? In this role, you will proofread marketing, instructional, and technical content for grammar and mechanics. An ideal candidate will want to grow into additional roles, such as writer and project leader. We will test your skills and check references.
Expectations
- Deadline-driven. Our business is fast-paced with many quick-turnaround projects running at once. We expect our team members to meet our productivity guidelines and always deliver on time.
- Flexible and dynamic. We work on a variety of projects with clients in myriad industries. You’ll need to be able to get up to speed quickly on a variety of company style guides. Because our work naturally ebbs and flows, we offer flexible schedules and work arrangements.
- Proactive and communicative. This is a virtual position, so you won’t have someone looking over your shoulder and micromanaging your work. Every project has a project leader and a quality check, so you won’t be left on your own, but we do expect a high level of self-management. We plan for and expect collaboration and communication on every project.
- Committed to quality. McMul is proud of the work we do, and we want you to take pride in it too. We’re looking for proofreaders who are incredibly careful in their changes and curious enough to question and confirm standards. We want someone who is not afraid to collaborate with team members for the best final product.

“We turned to McKinnon‑Mulherin for on-site technical writing, editing, and desktop publishing services.
Your writer was brutal on editing our work, but she was right on every edit she made.
The guide now reads much, much better, and we are very grateful for what she did.”
Scott Niskach, Director of International Sales, Evans & Sutherland
