McKinnon-Mulherin and Selerity Team Up to Create SFC User Documentation, Product Training
SALT LAKE CITY—Information Design firm McKinnon-Mulherin and Selerity Technologies Inc. recently teamed up to produce user documentation and training for Selerity’s cutting-edge Supercritical Fluid Chromatograph.
McKinnon-Mulherin Director of Marketing and Sales Regina Davis called the effort “the perfect match. We’re both small companies focused on doing something really well. We were able to help one another.”
Selerity’s Series 3000 SFC is revolutionizing the way that petroleum companies test their products for micro-particles, like olefins and aromatics, regulated by governmental legislation. Selerity needed a team whose focus was on the process of creating technical documentation.
“Their team came in, observed our machine and our processes, and went back to the work of writing the documentation,” said W. Dale Felix, Selerity’s marketing manager. “Our team has a lot of talented people, even some good writers, but we didn’t have the time to get the project done in light of more pressing business concerns. McKinnon-Mulherin’s team stepped in, met with our subject-matter experts, learned the content, and took the user documentation and training materials off our plates.”
“With equipment as delicate and complicated as a chromatograph, user documentation is key,” Davis added. “Our team focused its writing on Selerity’s audience for the optimum results—an installation and operation manual their users can use!”
McKinnon-Mulherin, Inc., is a Salt Lake City-based firm that specializes in strategic communication and information design. It offers training, documentation, and proposal-writing services in support of both online and hardcopy media.
