The National Association of Women Business Owners presented women entrepreneurs from Utah with two of its NAWBO Leadership Awards-Bridge Builder and Unsung Hero. The awards are recognition for women business owners who have shown leadership and success in their businesses. These award winners were honored at NAWBO's 2005 Annual Women's Business Conference, from June 9-11, in Orlando, FL.

Janet Kay Hemming, JKH Associates, from Salt Lake City, UT, was honored with the BridgeBuilder award for her ability to build alliances and form coalitions in Utah. Janet is involved in community outreach and is adept at pulling groups together. In her public relations organization, Janet works to "Tell your story, sell products or services, or build a reputation in today's busy communications environment requires a specialist with experience and proven performance."

Kathleen Reddy, McKinnon-Mulherin, Inc. from Salt Lake City, UT, was the recipient of the Unsung Hero award. This award recognizes entrepreneurs who are critical to the growth and health of an organization. Kate has given back to the community, worked behind the scenes and didn't look for credit in assisting NAWBO Salt Lake City's growth. According to Jan Hemming, past president of NAWBO Salt Lake City, "Communications is the lynchpin or glue that holds most chapters together and Kate is our glue. I can't imagine where the NAWBO Salt Lake City chapter would be without Kate Reddy."
