History of this
Award
The Salt Lake Chamber Small
Business Awards had its origins in the Small Business of the Year award
given by the Chamber beginning in 1987. In 1997 other categories were
added and the awards were renamed the Giant Step Small Business Awards.
This year the name “Giant Step” was dropped to end confusion with the
Chamber’s “A Giant in our City” award. The Small Business Awards honor
small businesses for their growth, innovation and involvement. They are
the most prestigious awards that the Chamber gives to small business. With
85 percent of its membership classified as small businesses, the Salt Lake
Chamber is proud to support the success of small business in Utah. The
Chamber’s Small Business Awards recognize that the dreams of entrepreneurs
are the engine of business reality and business success.
Please consider nominating a fellow
Chamber member for the 2007 Small Business Awards. If you would like
additional information on the Salt Lake Chamber Small Business
Awards, please contact Jackie at (801) 328-5053 or via email at awards@saltlakechamber.org
